Twinkle Little Star

Given the many songs I sing to Soren, this is one I rarely sing. I was floored earlier today when he remembered almost all the lyrics and sang it to me. SO cute!

Twinkle Little Star Continued

Sparing you all the 5 minutes of repetition... This is the how the song ended.

First Minestrone Soup Experience

Soren had soup with broth in a "Big Boy" bowl for the first time tonight. He tackled Cheerios and milk so well that we assumed soup would be a piece of cake. Um, no... it wasn't. Imagine our surprise while sitting at the dinner table. We scrambled for the camera to catch this one!

Causality of war

Jackie and Fred: Would you print us another copy of this picture? It was sort of in the line of fire.

August 19th 2009 - Nate's Company Picnic

5 years ago today, Nate and I found ourselves surrounded by family and close friends on a beautiful beach in Maui. As the sun set, we said our vows, exchanged rings and sealed our marriage with a kiss. As we walked alone down Makena Cove beach we talked about how we planned to re-visit this very beach and celebrate our 5th anniversary. Boy, how our lives have changed. Funny thing is... as I watched my husband mingle and laugh with friends and co-workers, and watched my son giggle and squeal with excitement... there was no place on earth I'd rather be on my 5th anniversary that right there, right then, with my beautiful boys.

Riding the Choo Choo with Mommy

Rode the choo choo several times. Kind of scared of the two haunted houses we rode through. But we enjoyed the breeze!

Face painting with Daddy

Little scared at first, thought it was going to hurt. Asked if he could have his hair painted instead. Then remembered he wanted a dragon on his face too!

Yay! A jump house!

Wow! A portable Disneyland!

Overheating in the jump house

It was 98 degrees out that evening. Soren jumped for over a half hour. Sweating, beat red face and shouting "NOOOO" every time we asked him to come out. Of COURSE moms and dads are not aloud inside the jump house. So there is no way to retrieve your child. We had to coax him over and snatch his leg... while he screamed... and every cruel soul who isn't a parent yet laughed at us.

Jump, jump, jumping!

Note to doting Grandparents: We do NOT have room for one of these in our backyard.

Big Bouncy Slide

It might be hard to see the smile on his face in this picture but I think we've cured his fear of slides forever. What a Brave little boy!

Bouncy Slide With Helpers

Nate solicited the help of older boys to help Soren up and down the Titanic bouncy slide. Although it slowed the line of other kids down considerably, they didn't seem to mind. And did a great job of helping little Soren. SO sweet!

Soren's First Fire Engine Tour!

We planned to go on a walk this morning at a park in Wilsonville. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised to see they were holding a "Fun in the Park" festival! A real life fire engine!
Wooow!
Soren says, "Ready to go?!" He wanted to go for a ride, with sirens and all.

Definitely the highlight of Soren's weekend so far!
